Streamlined Level 2 develops advanced phonemic awareness, teaches the variant vowel and consonant spellings, and furthers students’ ability to divide words into syllables. The most common prefixes and suffixes are taught. Small group instruction with decodable text requires students to practice their new phonetic skills with increasing reading fluency and comprehension. Sight words continue to be systematically developed.
